She graduated from the Academy of Choral Art in Moscow and won the first prize in the international Operalia and St. Petersburg competitions. She recorded the opera L'amour de loin by Kaija Saariaho, for Harmonia Mundi under the baton of Kent Nagano, which won her the Diapason d'Or and a Grammy. Among other roles, she played The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, at Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper Berlin, Volksoper Vienna, Grand Theatre de Geneve, Bavarian Staatsoper, Frankfurt Oper and Opera Israel; Amina in La Sonnambula at the Bolshoi; Diana in L'abore at the Teatro Real in Madrid and Liceu in Barcelona; Olympia in Les contes d'Hoffmann at Covent Garden; Gilda in Rigoletto at the Monte Carlo Opera; and Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos at the Municipal Theater in Santiago de Chile.
