Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she began her training with Olga Ferri and graduated with the highest qualification at Teatro Colón Institute of Advanced Studies in Art. At the age of 15, she moved to New York and continued her studies at the School of American Ballet where she was given the lead role in Balanchine’s Raymonda Variation. She joined the American Ballet Theater and became, at age 19, the youngest Principal Dancer in the company history.
With Irina Kolpakova as coach for 15 years, she danced as Principal on all of her tours throughout the US, Europe, Asia and America. She appeared as Guest Artist with important companies such as the New York City Ballet, Tokyo Ballet, Kirov Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Kremlin Palace Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Teatro Colón, New Amsterdam Ballet and Teatro Alla Scala de Milan, etc, and the most prestigious Galas: La Gala des Etoiles, Gala of Dance and Music in London, Gala of Stars in Japan, Bolshoi Gala in Moscow, Grand Gala Tribute to Maya Plisetskaia, Alessandra Ferri’s Farewell in Japan, among many others. Famous choreographers created leading roles for her as TwylaTharp, James Kudelka, Nacho Duato, JiriKylian, Alexei Ratmansky, among others. In Buenos Aires Teatro Colón she has danced full lenght ballets as La bayadera, The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, The Corsair and Romeo and Juliet.
In May 2015, she danced her last performance with the ABT at the Metropolitan in New York with Giselle, and in October of that year she said goodbye to the Buenos Aires audience with Romeo and Juliet at the Teatro Colón.
She was chosen one of “The top 10 dancers of the century" by Dance Magazine, as well as “Leader of the Millenium” by Time and CNN television. She won the International Prize Gino Tani, the Konex Platinum Prize, the María Ruanova Award and Clarín Prize. In 2012 she joined the Gallery of Popular Idols in Argentina Government House and the City of Buenos Aires declared her Outstanding Personality giving her the Bicentennial Medal. Currently, she is Member of the Artist Committee for The Kennedy Center Honorees, a National Celebration of the Performing Arts in the US.
She keeps passing her dance passion through Classical Technique and Repertoire master classes in Argentina and abroad.
