Alzira, by Giuseppe Verdi, is an opera with a prologue and two acts, to a libretto by Salvatore Cammarano, based on the play Alzire, ou les Américains by Voltaire.
Premiered at the Gran Teatro Nacional in Peru in November 2018, in a co-production with the Opera Royal de Wallonie-Liége of Belgium and the Asociación Bilbaína de Amigos de la Ópera de España, together with the Peruvian National Symphony Orchestra and Choir, the Argentinean singer Jaquelina Livieri in the role of Alzira and renowned international artists.
