Based on a tale by E.T.A Hoffmann, this ballet with music by Léo Delibes tells the story of Swanilda, her boyfriend Franz and Dr. Coppelius, a toy maker who invents human-sized dolls. Franz falls in love with one of them, Coppelia, and only after several misunderstandings and surprises will he rejoins his fiancée in a happy ending.
