OPERA IN TWO ACTS (1813)
LIBRETTO BY ANGELO ANELLLI
NEW PRODUCTION OF TEATRO COLÓN
CO-PRODUCTION WITH THE SAN SEBASTIÁN MUSICAL FORTNIGHT AND THE SAN LORENZO DEL ESCORIAL FESTIVAL (MADRID, SPAIN)

150 years after Rossini's death, there is nothing better than revisiting the composer in his most sparkling aspect with a set in the 40’s. Composed in less than a month, The Italian girl... will parade pirates, slaves, eunuchs and odalisques around Isabella, an Italian woman who has been shipwrecked on the coast of Algeria. Her mission will be to rescue her beloved Lindoro from the clutches of the powerful Mustafa, who uses him to resolve the difficult relationship he has with his wife, Elvira.
