With his Sinfonietta (1926) the Czech composer Leoš Janáček (1854-1928) wanted to give a modern image of the Czech Republic, recently liberated from foreign occupation. The ballet by his compatriot Jiří Kylián (1947), created in 1978 for the Nederlands Dans Theater, presents a choreography full of energy and vitality.

The Argentine choreographer and regisseur, Alejandro Cervera, will give a new choreographic flesh to the famous work in a creation specially commissioned by the Teatro Colón for this season of its Ballet Estable.
